Cycle Traps:
College Avenue Westbound
(SR)
College Township

Westbound College Ave. between Pike St. (Lemont) and the 322 bypass.
This drain grate has a gap on the travel lane side wide enough to catch a wheel.

Due to roadway design, the motor traffic here is usually traveling 40-50 mph with
little space for bicycles. Here, we're looking east toward the Sheetz station and
Spring Creek.

There's little room for bikes and such high traffic speeds because the road has two
wide lanes each direction plus a center turning lane, even though there is only one
road intersecting from one side along this stretch of College.
To see what hazards you would encounter riding on the other side of the road, see:
College Avenue Eastbound
