Ghostbike Gets New Home

Members of the Kulakowski family recently helped a volunteer crew move the Ghostbike memorial for fallen cyclist Bohdan T. Kulakowski to its new location on the hillside behind the guardrail at the scene on Warner Dr. where Dr. Kulakowski was struck from behind by a van while riding home from work. PennDOT has agreed to allow the memorial to remain at the new location.
In addition, PennDOT has agreed to place Share the Road signs along the roadway section, to begin the study process to eliminate truck parking on the shoulder, and to repave the deteriorated and damaged shoulder. CRBC is also working for creation of the Bohdan T. Kulakowsk Memorial Bikeway to connect the South Atherton Bikeway along Warner Dr. to the new Oak Hall Park. In this breakthrough development, CRBC president Rick Gilmore recently announced, " PennDOT officials recognize this memorial's importance to the community and have decided against strict enforcement of their policy concerning obstructions in the right-of-way."
