We’re Having a Holiday Party

We’re teaming up with State College Cycling Club and Nittany Mountain Biking Association for a holiday party!
Tuesday, December 15,  6-9pm at Videon Central.
 — BYOB Drinks, Beer, Wine
 — Potluck Apps & Treats
 — Optional White Elephant Exchange (if participating, bring a gift of no more than $20)

More details can be found on our website, and you can help us with headcount by RSVPing to our Facebook event.

Come to celebrate, learn more about each of the bike groups in town, talk about what CentreBike should be focused on in 2016, and enjoy time with fellow people who are into bikes.  See you there!

This is big.

Would you like to see a better-connected network of bike routes in our community?  (i.e. bike/ped paths, designated bike lanes, painted on-road sharrows — or improvements on any road that is heavily used by cyclists). We have a major opportunity to influence that. Read on:

Background

For the past year, Centre Region Council of Gov’ts (COG) has worked on a regional bicycle plan. It covers the entire Centre Region.

Now COG is sharing their recommendations with the public, and our elected officials.

What’s Happening Now

COG is presenting the draft plan at meetings in every township and Borough in the region. There is also a meeting designed for the general public  on November 10, at 7pm at the COG Building.

We want you to send a loud-and-clear message to local elected officials that we support this type of work.

Take Action

Here’s how you can help:

  1. Review the draft plan and send your thoughts and feedback to Council of Governments at http://crcog.net/bikes
  2. Email your local elected leaders (in Ferguson, College, Harris, Patton, State College Borough, or Halfmoon townships). Tell them you want them to take action on the Regional Bicycle Plan from Council of Governments – and thank them for any help and support they are willing to provide.
  3. Attend the public review meeting on Tues. Nov 10 at 7pm at the COG Building. Share your positive support of COG’s work.
  4. Attend your local township council meeting (in Ferguson, College, Harris, Patton, State College Borough, or Halfmoon townships). Speak up during public comments, and share your positive enthusiasm for more bike infrastructure.

Have questions? Send CentreBike a message.

CentreBike in the News…

We’ve had a few opportunities recently to get the message out about our mission:  More participation, improved safety, increased access, and stronger support for cycling as transportation and recreation in the Centre Region.

We’re proud of the work we are doing at CentreBike, and hope you are too.
