Ride Your Bike to Work Tomorrow!

It’s almost here: Friday, May 15 is National Bike-to-Work Day. Jump on your bike, and join your fellow two-wheeled commuters in the Centre Region!

From 8am – 8:45am on May 15, stop by The Bicycle Shop in State College for free coffee and espresso, as part of our Commuter Coffee Fridays.

Every Friday in May, cycling commuters can stop in at a different location around town to pick up a free coffee, get cycling questions answered, and celebrate the joy of two-wheeled cycling to work. Make sure to explore all our May Bike Month activities.

Still have questions about riding to work? Check out this list of handy bicycle commuting tips from the League of American Bicyclists.

What else is happening in May?

Have you signed up for the National Bike Challenge (www.nationalbikechallenge.org)? CentreBike is currently #16 out of 109 local challenges, with 147 riders riding 7,637 miles since May 1. We’re up against challenges with hundreds to thousands of riders. Imagine if we can get to 200 riders?

We know you’re here and you’re riding. Logging your miles is easy, and you can do it well after the fact. If you’re already registered in the challenge and you haven’t logged your miles, please do so and help boost us up in the standings!

Join Us for May Bike Month 2015

CentreBike is gearing up for May!  May is both National Bike to Work Month, as well as National Bike Safety Month, and we have a handful of events to celebrate the start of another warm-weather cycling season.

“Commuter Coffee Fridays” will offer free coffee to commuting cyclists every Friday morning in May at a different location around Downtown State College. You’ll also have the opportunity to take a family-friendly bike ride with the Mayor, or attend a PennDOT press event about bicycle safety in the region.

We’d love to see you at any of our May events!
