Where would you like to see bike improvments?

Talk about easy riding, comfort bikes, places to park and ride, and rail trails. You don't need to be hardcore to ride a bike.

Where would you like to see bike improvments?

We live in a bike rich environment here in Happy Valley, with more people biking everyday. Getting around on a bike isn't always easy, so I pose the question; where can we improve? I personally would like to see the Bellefonte Central Rail-trail up and running, and feel that a bike connection between communities is more than just a bike connection, its a social link, and recognized ecological corridor that needs to be protected.

Completion of the BCRT would be an incredible achievement. I run into a lot of State College folks when riding the Lower Trail who are all there for the same reason - there isn't a similar trail any closer.

The one stretch of path that is local that everybody knows about is the Spring Creek/Slab Cabin multi-use path which is underutilized because the hills prove too daunting for folks who want a casual ride.

I'm a casual rider myself and would like to see more off-road options, especially in the outlying areas.

Is there a benefactor out there that would endow the trail? We'll name it after you! How about the Mini-Tab Rail Trail or the Center Community Hospital Rail Trail? Going once......

Money isn't the issue. The problem are the property rights. If the landowners aren't willing to give way for the trail, it won't happen.
