  • State College’s 7th Annual Cranksgiving!

    FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
    October 16, 2025

CentreBike Invites Community to Seventh Annual Cranksgiving, a Bicycle-Powered Food Drive Benefiting Centre County Youth Service Bureau

State College, PACentreBike, a local non-profit organization dedicated to bicycle advocacy, invites community members to take part in the Seventh Annual Cranksgiving, to be held Saturday, October 25, 2025, from 10 AM to 2 PM at Videon Central (2171 Sandy Drive, State College). A rain date is set for November 1, same time.

Cranksgiving is a bicycle-powered food drive: participants shop from a needs list and deliver the items by bike to benefit the Centre County Youth Service Bureau. Riders should bring a bike, helmet, lock, and bags or panniers. A suggested minimum donation of $20-$25 helps ensure meaningful impact. E-bikes, cargo bikes, and trailers are welcome. Registration is FREE at cranksgivingstatecollege.com . For those unable to attend, online donations via the event site are encouraged.

In 2024, 91 cyclists helped donate 1,900 pounds of items, with a total value of $4,789.50. Over the course of six years (2019-2024), Cranksgiving State College has rallied more than 500 riders, collecting 8,500 pounds of items valued at over $18,000 in donations.

“Cranksgiving shows what’s possible when bicycles and generosity come together,” said Matthew Cox, President of CentreBike. “Every mile ridden and every item donated makes a real difference for local families.”

Cranksgiving State College is supported in part by a $1,000 Awesome Grant from 3 Dots Downtown, helping expand its community impact and outreach this year.

CentreBike is a 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization committed to bicycle advocacy in the Centre Region since 2000.
