While the Group Ride/After Party version of the 2021 Ride of Silence State College has been cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic, we are following the international organization’s lead and asking people to ride solo or with the your household members on May 19th at 7pm.
Our originally planned 12 mile ride route is here: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/31805244, starting at Friedman Park and Fraser St. We also have mapped a 9.4 mile loop from Friedman Park that includes passing the Bohdan Kulakowski Ghost Bike on Warner Blvd.: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/32686847. These routes are only suggestions, and you can do any ride on any path or road — just please report it as indicated below.

Here are the notes from the Ride of Silence site:
As you do your ride, please:
1. Ride in silence
2. Remember and honor those who’ve been hit & killed while riding or seriously injured
3. Ride slowly and a relatively short distance – this is not a race
4. Wear a helmet & obey road laws for bicyclists.
5. Take a selfie photo or 2 and use the hashtag #RideofSilence2021 and tag @centrebike (facebook) or @centrebikesc (Instagram) with your location when posting your ride on social media. Posting to the Ride of Silence Facebook page is especially encouraged. That will allow the Ride of Silence organizers to get a good sense for how many people participated this year, & will be something the media may also use for researching their stories about their events around the world.

If you can’t ride tonight, the rain date is Saturday, May 22.

In all rides, please observe physical distancing and respect other road/path users space.
