State College Police were assisted at the scene by Boalsburg Fire Company and Centre Life Link EMS.

On Monday 8/12/19 at approximately 8:59pm, State College Police were dispatched to a car vs bicycle crash on Shingletown Rd near Mountain Rd. Upon arrival it was determined that a 16-year-old Boalsburg male was riding a bicycle and was struck by a Subaru SRX driven by 21-year-old Zachary Broome of State College. The crash occurred after sunset on a road with no street lighting. The bicycle did not have any required lighting on it at the time of the crash. The 16-year-old male was flown by Life Flight from the scene due to his injuries to UPMC-Altoona. Alcohol and/or drug use are not suspected by Broome. As of the time of this press release, the condition of the 16-year-old is still critical.
